COLE HAAN OPENS FIRST STORE IN HAWAII

HONOLULU – Cole Haan, America's premier style and luxury brand, is pleased to announce the opening of its first store in Hawaii at Ala Moana Center today. Ala Moana is one of the world’s most dynamic and successful shopping venues. Cole Haan signifies the Center’s on-going expansion and commitment to world-class, retailing.

The new Cole Haan store is a beautifully designed 3,000 square feet of mid-century modern design. It’s the perfect lifestyle showcase for the complete Cole Haan line for women and men. Cole Haan takes a fresh approach to retailing by creating an intimate and inviting residential atmosphere. This enhances the presentation of the latest shoes, handbags, accessories and coats, and makes the shopping experience more pleasurable.

One of the highlights at the Ala Moana store is Cole Haan’s signature, new offering, Cole Haan Collection. Collection embodies the American style and luxury the brand has long epitomized, and takes the design to a new level with exciting shapes and rich materials. “The idea is to make Collection very signature, something personal with heirloom quality,” says Executive Vice President and Creative Director Gordon Thompson. “We remain true to the character of the brand with its timeless design while incorporating chic and sophisticated products the consumer will have in their wardrobe forever.”

Another highlight is G Series, which combines the worlds of sport and fashion. With access to innovation from the NIKE Lab, G Series uses exclusive NIKE technologies that improve the performance of athletes and reapply them to fashion footwear and accessories for men and women that provide comfort in a sleek design.

Cole Haan crafts its footwear, accessories and outerwear using the most luxurious materials available, such as rich, hand-burnished calfskin, plush cashmere suede, genuine crocodile and American farm-raised alligator. Each season Cole Haan challenges its tanneries to create new hides exclusively for Cole Haan products. Many leathers are also beautifully hand-finished, a touch that is both authentic and artisan.

Vien Ngonethong has been named store manager, and she oversees a staff of 12 employees.

Honolulu-based Jay Kadowaki, Inc. General Contractor was responsible for the construction.

Cole Haan is located on the mall level of Ala Moana Center in the Diamond Head wing. The phone number is 808-941-1270.

Cole Haan is celebrated for high-quality, handcrafted products that blend craftsmanship, design and innovation.  In addition to its many retail stores, consumers can experience all Cole Haan has to offer by visiting colehaan.com.

A wholly owned subsidiary of NIKE, Inc., Cole Haan has its worldwide headquarters in Yarmouth, Maine and its design headquarters in New York City. Cole Haan currently has more than 70 retail stores in the United States and Canada, and more than 50 retail locations in the Asia/Pacific region. Cole Haan has also built a strong presence in the U.S. through boutiques located in select department stores and specialty retailer locations.
