Ala Moana Center Partners with Polynesian Cultural Center to Present New Performances at Centerstage
HONOLULU – Ala Moana Center, Hawaii’s premier shopping destination, announced today a new partnership with Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) to present free weekly performances at Centerstage. The 45-minute performances will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 12 noon beginning Thursday, April 13th.
“We are thrilled to be presenting a new cultural experience at Ala Moana Center for our island residents, and for visitors coming to us from around the world,” said Sharon James, regional vice president of marketing for General Growth Properties – Hawaii. She added, “We were looking to add another cultural element to the center’s existing Keiki Hula Shows on Sundays, and the self-guided walks of Hawaii’s native plants incorporated into our Mall Level landscaping. Our new partnership with PCC is the perfect fit.”
The 45-minute weekly performances will highlight several of the seven Polynesian cultures represented at the PCC including Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Marquesas, Aotearoa, and Fiji. The world famous promotional team dancers will give a taste of the songs and dances that showcase the special cultures of Polynesia, along with interactive demonstrations of games and crafts.
“It’s exciting to be included as part of the entertainment at Ala Moana Center’s Centerstage,” said Ellen Gay Dela Rosa, senior manager of Hawaii promotions. “The world-class reputation of Ala Moana Center is a natural match for our world-famous dancers. And, we’re excited to be able to offer ticket packages for sale at the Center too. The added convenience of this additional ticket outlet is integral to enhancing our visitor experience.”
As part of the new partnership, Ala Moana Center also will be selling tickets for four premier dinner packages through their Customer Service Center, located Street Level across Centerstage.
Available dinner packages include the AMBASSADOR LUAU PACKAGE which includes admission to all seven island villages, a lei greeting, a semi-private small group guided walking and canoe tour, the Pageant of the Long Canoes, the award-winning Ali‘i Lu‘au dinner and show, an IMAX™ movie, the spectacular Horizons night show with premium seating, special dessert, and a souvenir printed program, video and compact disc for $110 adults / $76 children (ages 3-11); the AMBASSADOR PACKAGE which includes the same activities as the Ambassador Luau Package along with Ambassador dining with a delicious prime rib and seafood buffet dinner for $110 adults / $76 children (ages 3-11); as well as the TWILIGHT AMBASSADOR and TWILIGHT AMBASSADOR LUAU for $95 adults / $66 children (ages 3-11); which includes all of the amenities as the regular packages beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
