Ala Moana Center Makes Holiday Shopping a Breeze
Extended holiday hours, valet parking, concierge services, gift cards and more!

HONOLULU – The holidays are a hectic time of year for most shoppers. There are stockings to fill, gifts to wrap, trees to decorate and special holiday events to attend. This year Ala Moana Center simplifies the shopping frenzy by offering customers extended holiday hours, convenient valet parking, a helpful customer service center and holiday concierge, gift cards, easy street access, and the convenience of sending gifts immediately from the in-mall post office. With all of these helpful amenities, Ala Moana Center is a one-stop shopping destination this holiday season.

To accommodate busy shoppers Ala Moana Center has extended its regular hours. Beginning now through New Years Day 2007, Ala Moana Center will open its doors earlier and close later to allow shoppers the time they need to visit each and every store on their list.

Extended holiday hours are as follows:
Nov 26-30      9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Dec 1 – 14      9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Dec 15 – 23      8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Dec 24 – Christmas Eve    7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Dec 26       8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Dec 27 – 30      9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Dec 31 - New Year’s Eve    10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
January 1, 2007 – New Year’s Day   9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

To ease traffic flow and alleviate tie-ups, Ala Moana Center has reopened the center’s street level “ring road” that allows shoppers driving access around the entire center.  The road allows for back and forth accessibility from each point of the Sears and Macy’s ends of the mall through the once-barricaded Ala Moana Center Expansion area located on the mauka side of the mall. The center’s ring road will be open now through Wednesday, January 3, 2007.

For a bit of parking and shopping convenience, customers can treat themselves to easy access valet parking located Mall Level on the Mauka side of the center (near Gap).  It’s open daily from 10 a.m. to Midnight and costs $5 per vehicle with Handicap parking available at no cost.

For shoppers who need a hand navigating their way around Ala Moana Center’s busy sidewalks and long list of holiday events, visit the Customer Service Center located on the Street Level across from Centerstage. Besides offering customers Ala Moana Center’s Holiday Pocket Guide containing information on Holiday activities, mall hours, special services and more, the Customer Service Center also provides complimentary wheel chair rental, mall maps and general information to assist shoppers.

Also found at the Customer Service Center is an easy way to take care of some of that holiday shopping by purchasing an Ala Moana Center Gift Card for someone on your list.  They are available in any denomination between $20 and $500 and can be used at almost any Ala Moana Center store or restaurant. The gift cards can be purchased with cash, American Express, Visa or Mastercard, and balances can be easily checked by phone, online, or at any one of Ala Moana Center’s 11 gift card balance readers.

If you find yourself wondering who those people wearing red shirts and walking shorts around the center are, they’re not elves or Santa’s helpers – they’re Ala Moana Center’s holiday concierges! Holiday concierges will be making their way throughout Ala Moana Center’s busy walkways ready to come to the aid of shoppers who need direction or just a little information.

When the day of shopping is done, and it’s time to get those gifts to loved ones on the Mainland or neighbor islands, send your mail at the U.S. Post Office that even offers a 24-hour automated postal service located right outside its doors on the Street Level (near Foodland). Avoid the long lines and easily purchase stamps and weigh and mail parcels with your credit or debit card. Sending your packages either by Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail or Parcel Post Service is a breeze with the automated postal center!
