Ala Moana Center's recently opened Lululemon Athletica leads the field in thoughtfully designed athletic fashions. "Everything in the store is made for moving and sweating," says Lululemon community educator and yoga instructor Shanda Woods. "The clothing is designed by athletes for athletes."

All the gear is crafted from technically advanced preshrunk fabrics with comfortable flat seams that can stand up to anything from yoga and cardio kickboxing to dance and triathlon training. The brand welcomes feedback from its customers anytime. "When enough people give us comments on something, like an irritating zipper," Woods says, "you'll see the design evolve to perform even better the next season."

Will you be using them in the gym, on the tennis court or on the track? Match footwear to the specific activity for which they'll be used and understand the shape and structure of your feet. Store employees can help you select options that complement your unique foot type and gait. Listen to Your Feet Comfort rules, so, make sure your shoes fit properly. There should be about half an inch between your longest toe and the end of the shoe; push down on the front of the shoe with your thumb to check the distance. Feel free to walk or jog around the store. If your toes have enough room and your heel doesn't slip, you're on the path to a perfect pair.
