Back-to-School Community Events
To kick-off the festivities, Ala Moana Center will host a weekend of family-friendly entertainment, interactive activities, and opportunities to support local keiki on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Saturday, July 19
Guests are invited to enjoy local talent and culture with the following Centerstage performances.

11 am – Drill Team Hawaii
Enjoy thrilling dance performances, featuring more than 50 dancers, by the award-winning Drill Team Hawaii. -
11 am–1 pm – Aloha United Way School Supplies Drive
Location: Mall Level 2, Center Court
Donate new school supplies to help local keiki start the year ready to learn. Each donor will receive a $5 Jungle Fun Island gift card, while supplies last. -
1 pm – Nohohon Hawaiʻi
Enjoy a lively ‘ukulele performance featuring a mix of familiar tunes and cheerful melodies. -
3 pm – Lovejack
Catch this Emmy-nominated artist as he brings “Bridgerton Pop” to Centerstage with his high-energy cello and rock-infused classics. -
5 pm – Daily Hula Show
Experience a special 20-minute production that shares the stories of Hawai‘i through both traditional kahiko and modern ʻauana hula.
Sunday, July 20
The celebration will continue with Centerstage entertainment.

1 pm – Keiki Hula Show
Location: Centerstage
Watch young keiki take the stage as they carry on the tradition of hula. -
5 pm – Daily Hula Show
Location: Centerstage
Experience a special 20-minute production that shares the stories of Hawai‘i through both traditional kahiko and modern ʻauana hula.
KEIKI GOODIES
From July 15 through Aug. 31, families can celebrate the start of a new school year with fun, free gifts for keiki. Stop by Guest Services to pick up complimentary back-to-school treats, while supplies last:
- An exclusive Ala Moana Center coloring book and crayon set.
- A special children’s book, First Day of School with Mrs. Humuhumunukunukuapua‘a, provided by the ‘Ohana100, the Daniel Kahikina Akaka Family Foundation, to encourage families and keiki to read.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL BLOOD DONATION SWEEPSTAKES
From now until July 31, shoppers can take part in the Blood Bank of Hawai‘i’s Back-to-School Sweepstakes, proudly supported by Ala Moana Center. Individuals who donate blood or blood products at any Blood Bank of Hawai‘i location on O‘ahu will be entered to win one of eight $250 Ala Moana Center gift cards. Whether stocking up on school supplies or updating a wardrobe, this is the perfect opportunity to give back and prepare for the new school year. Two lucky winners will be announced each week.
