In collaboration with POW! WOW! Hawaii, local artist Kate Wadsworth reimagined the Center’s iconic 28-foot-wide Aloha Sign with a lei-inspired design—symbolizing connection, welcome, and the rich cultural traditions of Hawaiʻi.

Now fully refreshed, the Aloha Sign stands as a vibrant tribute to the spirit of “aloha,” honoring community, culture, and creativity. It officially debuts on May 1 in celebration of Lei Day—an annual Hawaiʻi tradition dedicated to the art of lei-making and the sharing of leis as expressions of affection, respect, and celebration of island heritage.

The unveiling marks the start of a month-long celebration at Ala Moana Center, featuring cultural programming, special activations, and seasonal offerings.
