Ala Moana Center opened on August 13, 1959, becoming Hawaii's premier destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. 60th Anniversary Commemorative Book

The commemorative 60th anniversary book highlights the story and legacy of Ala Moana Center. A behind-the-scenes look at the world’s largest open-air shopping center from its history and development, opening day, and the many transformations over the past six decades. Books are sold at Guest Services on Street Level 1, Center Court behind Centerstage.

Book purchase benefits Goodwill Hawaii, $39 (less processing fee of 5%) will be donated to Goodwill Hawaii. Purchase of the book will come with a tote. Limited quantities available, while supplies last. Credit card only, please.

Limited-Edition Gift with Purchase

To celebrate Ala Moana Center's 60th Anniversary, receive a limited-edition wine stopper with $300 in Ala Moana Center receipts dated July 8–August 31, 2019.

Join us on Saturday, August 10 as we celebrate the Center's 60th Anniversary with special performances, fun activities and more!

Birthday Celebration

Box Up Your Goods for Goodwill

Ala Moana Center is partnering with Goodwill Hawaii as they also celebrate 60 years of service in the community, helping people with employment barriers reach their full potential and become self-sufficient.

On Saturday, August 17, bring in your gently used clothing and household items to help Goodwill Hawaii reach their goal of collecting 3,500 boxes of donations in order to provide 60,000 hours of job training, counseling and placement services to those in need.

Donations will be accepted at three locations throughout the day:

  • Atkinson Drive entrance from 9am–4pm
  • Centerstage from 10am–2pm
  • California Pizza Kitchen from 10:30am–4pm - Receive a coupon for a free small plate when you make a donation in the Goodwill Hawaii bin

Individuals who donate at any of the designated locations will be entered for a chance to win two roundtrip tickets from Hawaii to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies, courtesy of Alaska Airlines.

Enjoy entertainment and activities at Centerstage from 10am–2pm:

  • 10am: Sign language performance by Goodwill Signing Stars and 'ukulele performance by Kapolei Charter School students
  • 11am: Heart Beat, 24/7 Dance Group of Intellectually Challenged members
  • 12pm: Kumu Blaine Kamalani Kia with Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie
